News: Gastroenterology Consultants of San Antonio is a Professional Association composed of ten Board Certified gastroenterologists. Our office and ambulatory endoscopy center is located in the South Texas Medical Center. The physicians maintain staff privileges at all the Medical Center hospitals and provide 24-hour patient coverage. Our physicians and staff are dedicated to clinical excellence which is evaluated through patient and physician surveys; utilization management; outcome analysis; and peer review. Together, these systems are integrated into a comprehensive Performance Improvement Program (PIP) designed to optimize patient outcomes while maintaining cost effectiveness. Located just north of Loop 1604 between Highway 281 and Stone Oak Parkway, Gastroenterology Consultants’ new location combines convenience with our unparalleled reputation for state-of-the-art gastrointestinal medicine. The clinic is surrounded by lush landscaping and inside you’ll find a state of the art facility: wireless and chartless. In fact, we offer wireless technology to our patients so they can have internet access during their short wait. Ample parking can be found outside the new stand-alone clinic and ambulatory endoscopy center. Three of our highly qualified Gastroenterology Consultants physicians – Dr. Michael Guirl, Dr. Richard Shaffer, and Dr. James Jackson – have moved to the new Stone Oak location. All three physicians will provide new consultations, office visits, and procedures at the new location. Of course we will continue to offer the highest of care at our medical center clinic on the corner of Wurzbach and Ewing Halsell.
