Please join us in congratulating Dr. Delbert Chumley, Dr. James Jackson, Dr. Alejandro Pruitt and Dr. John T. Swan who were recognized as 2016 Super Doctors® in the December issue of Texas Monthly Magazine. Congratulations also go out to Dr. Zarema Singson who was named to the 2016 Super Doctors® Rising Star list. These lists identify physicians who have achieved the highest degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in their field of medicine. These are both very prestigious honors as only 5% of the physicians in Texas are named to the Super Doctors® list and no more than 2.5% are named to the Rising Stars list.
Each year, Super Doctors® invites physicians to nominate colleagues they consider to be exceptional in their field. Physicians are asked to consider the following question: “If you needed medical care, which doctor would you choose?” An independent research firm also contributes to the pool of candidates by searching medical databases, online sources, and publications for doctors who have attained certain credentials, honors or professional achievements.
These candidates are evaluated on the following 10 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement:
Once the independent evaluation is complete, only the highest-scoring doctors are included on the Super Doctors® list for their state or region.
