Three Additional Doctors Join Gastroenterology Consultants of San Antonio

San Antonio deserves great GI care. We’re excited to welcome these excellent physicians to our practice.

Steven E. Hearne, MD, attended the Baylor College of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, as well as a two-year Gastroenterology fellowship. He has a special interest in colon cancer screening and treating IBD. In his spare time, Dr. Hearne enjoys playing golf and traveling with his wife. They are part of a yearly medical ministry where they travel to Senegal, Africa, and are involved with the Kairos prison ministry.

Ricardo Hernandez, MD, attended medical school at the University of California at Davis and completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Hernandez specializes in all aspects of digestive disease and emphasizes the importance of the mind and gut connection in his care and treatment plans. Dr. Hernandez spends his leisure time getting his hands dirty at his Hacienda De Nuestra Senora de Consuelo and dedicates his off time to the land and his various animals.

Jadesola Omoyeni, MD, received her medical degree from a prestigious university in Nigeria and a master’s in public health from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.Dr. Omoyeni completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she served as a third-year Chief Resident. She completed her fellowship in gastroenterology at Harlem Hospital Center in affiliation with Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Omoyeni is interested in the preventative aspects of medicine and has published articles about bariatric surgery and liver diseases. When Dr. Omoyeni is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two young daughters, and extended family, and she also enjoys reading novels.
