Why see a gastroenterologist?

Dr. David Pryor Jones answers the question:

Why see a gastroenterologist?

“Most patients who come to see a gastroenterologist come because of symptoms involving their GI tract. Some patients come because of a family history of colon issues and require screening examination and would like to discuss it in further detail.

Patients that do have problems with the GI tract typically will have symptoms of acid reflux, nausea, vomiting, or changes in their bowel habit patterns. There’s a lot of ways that we can help assist patients with that and typically the last cases that patients will come to see us is for issues with their pancreas, gallbladder or involving their liver.

For more information regarding the diseases that a gastroenterologist would treat, please consult our website.”
